“Spring on Colfax feels alive this year, and we want La Vista to be right in the middle of it,” said Nathan Beal, Owner of La Vista Motel. “We built this as a gathering place for the neighborhood, somewhere you can come for a rooftop drink, a party, or just a Sunday morning with good music and good people. We’re getting back to those block party days, spending time outside, and reconnecting with what made this stretch of Colfax so fun.”

Patio Opening Party — Saturday, April 25

La Vista's freshly refinished patio is officially open, and the motel invites the neighborhood to celebrate the first of many rooftop hangs. On Saturday, April 25, guests are invited to raise a glass on both the street-level patio outside El Piñon and the new upstairs rooftop, where views stretch west down Colfax and out to the mountains for a backdrop as classic as the motel itself.

“We might have one of the best views in the city,” said Beal. “Once you’re up there, it makes sense why it was named La Vista back in the 1950s. Now we’re excited to finally share it.”

El Piñon's new seasonal menu debuts with a lineup that includes the 1814 Spritz, Paloma, Spring Rum Punch, and an exclusive Fruit Punch Seltzer inspired by your favorite sports drink, alongside Miller High Life Pony Spaghett Flights and Guava Lamp shots — a lava lamp-inspired creation as a nod to La Vista's retro roots. Mimosas and white wine specials keep things easy all afternoon.

Cinco de Mayo Parking Lot Fiesta — Saturday, May 2

The celebration spills into the motel parking lot the following weekend. On Saturday, May 2, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., La Vista hosts its first Cinco de Mayo Parking Lot Fiesta featuring specials on margaritas and palomas, tequila shots, and ice-cold Mexican lagers. A DJ and live music will keep the energy going throughout the afternoon, making this one of the best ways to spend the holiday weekend on East Colfax.

Continental Breakfast Party with Flo and Woody Deville — Sunday, May 3

On Sunday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., La Vista leans into its motel roots with a Continental Breakfast Party. Denver DJs Flo (@flodanna) and Woody Deville (@woody_deville) take over with a set of soul, funk, rare-groove, and feel-good classics on vinyl for a Sunday morning that feels like waking up somewhere special.

Mimosas flow freely alongside a spread of mini cereal boxes, pastries, and classic continental breakfast bites, all served with the nostalgic warmth that defines La Vista. Guests are encouraged to keep an eye on the parking lot, where classic cars will be on display, and a vintage sale adds a little treasure hunt to the morning.
