La Vista Motel Neon Lighting Ceremony and Sneak Peak
You are invited to an exclusive sneak preview and Neon Sign Lighting Ceremony at the newly restored La Vista Motel on East Colfax.
This is a pre-opening event — La Vista Motel’s official grand opening weekend will take place later this fall. For now, we’re offering select media and people who have been part of the project a first look at the renovation, with a special plaque dedication and the dramatic lighting of the motel’s restored neon sign.

6:00–8:00 p.m.
Program
- 6:00–7:00 p.m. | Arrival, socializing, and self-guided tours of select guest rooms, outdoor spaces, and El Piñon, the onsite bar and coffee shop. Appetizers provided by the nearby Supreme Chicken, plus drinks from El Piñon (wine, beer, cocktails, and NA options) will be served.
- 7:00 p.m. | Plaque ceremony with remarks from Damion Pechota, National and State Register Historian with History Colorado, followed by the official neon sign lighting.
- 7:30–8:00 p.m. | Socializing and celebration.
This event offers a unique opportunity to see the property before it opens to the public and to capture a story about historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and the ongoing revitalization of East Colfax.
